A SAFE FRIENDLY PLACE AFTER SCHOOL
Our free informal drop-in, named coffee bar by young people, provides 8-17 year olds with somewhere safe to go after school while they wait to be picked up or for their buses/trains home.
We open Tuesday-Thursday from 3.15 pm-4.30 pm and run with a trained youth leader and a dedicated team of volunteers each afternoon. There is free pool, air hockey and table tennis as well as comfy chairs for young people to catch up with their friends at the end of the school day.
We are trying to recruit additional staff to re open our Monday session.
We provide free toast, hot chocolate and squash as well as having a well stocked tuck shop that is very popular with the young people.
The youth leaders are trained to support people with issues around safeguarding or sexual health and are frequently engaging in positive conversations about bullying, politics, social media and and money management - no topic is off limit and there is no such thing as a silly question.
Please feel free to drop by one afternoon and say hello or bring your friends for a free drink and game of pool.
