Staff vacancies:

Sessional Assistant Youth Leader
 

We are recruiting 2 sessional Assistant Youth Leaders to work alongside the Youth Leader running After-school coffee bars and youth clubs.

Duties:

  • Planning and facilitating activities and games within the aim of the youth club for that specific night

  • Supervising children and young people aged 8-16

  • Join in with activities where necessary

  • Encourage and empower young people within the youth club and coffee bar to reach their full potential and learn new skills

  • Collect data for evaluations and outcomes

  • To report to the youth leader any safeguarding and health & safety concerns immediately

  • Working alongside volunteers, serving snacks and drinks and handling money

  • Follow opening up/closing down procedures

  • Assess and respond to any risks arising during sessions

About you:

  • Have some experience of working with children and young people

  • Basic youth work/child development qualification preferred, but not necessary as training may be possible

  • Have an interest in bringing out the best in young people and seeing them succeed

  • Punctual and positive attitude

  • Good communicator with basic maths and English skills

  • Be able to work evenings and occasional weekends

  • Be able to form and maintain relationships with the children and young people

Candidate is required to work either Monday or Wednesday evenings 6-9pm.

Volunteer vacancies:
 
Coffee Bar volunteer

Duties include; handling money, serving children and young people, replenishing stock, serving toast and hot drinks, engaging in conversation with the children and young people. 
This will be for shifts during after school coffee bar 3-4.30pm and youth clubs 6-8.30pm during term time
Getting involved in the activities isn't necessary but always welcomed! 
A DBS check will be required for this role.

Hub-a-Bubbas volunteer

The Hub's very popular parent and toddler group, Hub-a-Bubbas, is looking to expand from Mondays to Wednesdays too! Therefore we are seeking an individual that will help our new Wednesday group to run smoothly.
Duties will include making snacks and drinks for the children, plus hot drinks for the adults, setting up and closing down of the session, handling money and engaging with the children and parents which may include joining in games and events.
This session runs from 9am until 12pm every Wednesday starting in September 2021.
A DBS check will be required for this role.
